A piece of research from November 2000 designed:
• To review the experience of Ana Liffey in the development of the concept, the provision of training and the implementation of a peer support programme.
• To place this experience in the broader context of current thinking regarding the training opportunities for people using drugs.
• To assess the impact of developing the peer support approach on participants, clients in the Ana Liffey, staff and those directly involved in the provision of training for peer support workers.
